Harvest supermarket photoRon Kelleher, Randy Lanclos and Jerry Cannon had a common vision of Harvest Supermarket being a vessel to the people of our community and all over the world. In 2005, while looking for a business venture, Ron Kelleher, a residential building contractor, had a vision of a supermarket being birthed on the corner of Hwy’s 73 and 74. He shared his vision with his father-in-law Jerry Cannon, a retired business owner, and long-time friend, Randy Lanclos, a plant operator. After much prayer and consideration, knowing what an enormous feat this would be, the three decided to start the process. From our humble beginnings our common goal was to “let go and let God”. Knowing nothing about the grocery business, we started doing our homework. We surrounded ourselves with great people who had many years’ experience in this business. Everyone caught the fever and with much excitement shared the common vision. When doors began to shut and it looked impossible, we prayed, and God made it possible. Often discouraged, one partner would lift the other. Never feeling defeat at the same time, one was always there to lift the other’s spirits with the will to keep trying. Banks said no, confidants discouraged us, but above all God led us. We came to realize it’s not who we are, but Who we know. It’s not what we’ve done, but what He is doing. Through it all there have been lessons learned, and a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father has developed. Every step, even down to the naming of our store, was an answered prayer. Sitting in our church parking lot, impatiently waiting for traffic to proceed, we decided to use the time to decide on a name for our store. We wanted to have a name that spoke our vision and was spiritual in nature. We decided on Harvest. The name was perfect. And what a harvest it has been!
