fter 25 years in the garment industry, the Carone family decided to go a different direction by opening a small grocery store in Harding, PA in 1990. With the help from family and friends the business began to flourish. With the family looking to expand the store we realized that the Harding area unfortunately could not support an expansion and instead we explored other areas in the Wyoming Valley. In 1996, the Collona family agreed to lease the former Acme location in Mountain Top, PA. A major renovation was required, but thanks to the efforts of family and friends, Carone’s Market opened in Mountain Top, PA on March 8, 1997.
